  12. CYMA Systems, Inc products PAS III v3.1, Client Accounting v3.1, MPM v1.03 and 
  13. DBD v1.03 has been tested as compatible with LANtastic versions 4.xx and 5.xx.

  16. Product Overview
  17. The CYMA series of computerized accounting modules have been designed for
  18. general business accounting (PAS III and Client Accounting) as well as products
  19. tailored to specific vertical markets (MPM - Medical and DPM - Dental
  20. practices).  The applications emphasize ease of use and multi-user access.
  21. Accounting systems in include General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts
  22. Payable, Payroll, Inventory and Order Processing and Job Control.

  25. Installation
  26. The machine on which the system will be installed must be configured as a
  27. LANtastic server.  Installation is accomplished from floppy disks.  Install
  28. the System Manager first followed by the individual accounting modules.
  29. Insert system manager software disk #1 in the floppy drive and from the floppy
  30. prompt type:

  34. Review the displayed notes and respond to the installation prompts.  Upon
  35. completion of the installation, you will be presented with a configuration
  36. menu.  Complete options A through C then select F (Multi-User Options) and
  37. designate the network as LANtastic.  To install additional accounting modules,
  38. Q(uit) from the configuration menu and respond Y(es) to install more CYMA
  39. modules.

  41. Configuration
  42. For multi-user use, be sure to load the DOS SHARE program on the PAS Server
  43. before starting the LANtastic network.   The minimum recommended SHARE
  44. parameters for the PAS Server are:

  46.      SHARE /F:2730 /L:(Greater of maximum number of users or 30 )

  50. Access to PAS III  from a LANtastic workstation
  51. To use the accounting package from a LANtastic workstation (or the PAS Server
  52. acting as a workstation), perform the following steps.  Assign an available
  53. drive letter as the redirected drive (P: is used in this example).

  55.      Net Login  \\<PAS Server> <Username> <Password>
  56.      Net Use P: \\<PAS Server>\C-DRIVE\PASIII

  61. Report Printing
  62. Before starting the accounting package, issue the NET USE command through the 
  63. operating system to establish a printer connection.  For example:

  65.      Net Use LPT1 \\<Printer Server>\@PRINTER

  68. Network Disconnects
  69. If a network disconnect occurs but the connection is reestablished before Net
  70. BIOS time-out, the application recovers completely.  After time-out, however,
  71. the application will fail with the error message :
